In this course you will learn everything you need to know to start a backyard nursery business in the state of West Virginia. If you are from another state we will teach you how to find the information you need regarding regulations and requirements in your state.
The course teaches you the business aspects of running a nursery business but also teaches you different ways to propagate plants and items you need to think about when operating the business and trying to keep the plants alive.
You will be provided with a written manual of the course material. The course includes a farm tour and demonstrations will be given on how we propagate plants, present the plants for sale, and how we upsell potential customers.

- Legal Entities, Laws, Regulations, Licensing and Inspections, Insurance, and Accounting
- Marketing – Spread the Word
- Geek Stuff – How to setup the IT Systems or get outside help.
- Selling – Sell to Who? How to find the Who (Customers)? Where to sell? Sell for how much? How do you sell? (Currency)
- Growing the Plants – How do you propagate the plants (8 different methods taught here), Nursery operations (how do you keep the plants alive)
- Winter Activities – what do you do with all that down time in the winter – yeah, right!
